Premium frankincense capsules from amitamin®
amitamin® Boswellia Serrata frankincense capsules are high-quality frankincense capsules from Indian frankincense (lat.: boswellia serrata) in pharmacy quality. At 85%, the extract (500 mg per capsule) has a particularly high proportion of high-quality boswellic acids.
We do not use any anti-caking agents, preservatives or colorants. Pure frankincense extract in a vegetable capsule shell without colorants.
The capsules are hygienically packed individually in blister packs. With tins, the capsules can easily become contaminated after opening – with amitamin® Boswellia Serrata they are always perfectly protected.
Frankincense is one of the most valuable extracts that nature has to offer. We therefore pay particular attention to the quality of the raw materials and processing.

amitamin® Boswellia Serrata recommended dosage
We recommend taking the frankincense capsules before or with a meal and with a drink (water, tea, fruit juice, etc.). This is the best way for the boswellic acids to be absorbed and at the same time further optimizes the already very good tolerability.
One capsule daily is our general recommendation. If you have a specific health condition, your doctor or pharmacist may recommend a higher daily dose.

The effect of frankincense
Frankincense has been traditionally used in the Far East for thousands of years. Since the 20th century, frankincense has also enjoyed increasing popularity in the western world as an extract in capsules or as oil.
Research into the effects of frankincense extracts and especially the boswellic acids of Boswellia serrata is of growing interest. We would like to tell you about the many benefits that have emerged from clinical studies. For food law reasons, however, we are not allowed to describe the possible effects here.
We therefore recommend that interested customers consult the freely accessible US science library: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=boswellia+serrata
Frankincense trees – botanical species
Frankincense (lat. boswellia) refers to a genus of trees and shrubs within the balsam tree family(Burseraceae). They reach a height of 2 meters to a maximum of 8 meters. Their leaves are usually pinnate.
The genus name honors the Scottish physician and botanist John Boswell (not to be confused with the historian of the same name)
There are 24 species within the Boswellia genus:
- Boswellia aspleniifolia
- Boswellia ameero
- Boswellia bhaw-dajiana (Somali frankincense)
- Boswellia bullata
- Boswellia dalzielii
- Boswellia dioscoridis
- Boswellia elongata
- Boswellia frereana
- Boswellia globosa
- Boswellia microphylla
- Boswellia nana
- Boswellia neglecta
- Boswellia occulta
- Boswellia ogadensis
- Boswellia ovalifoliolata
- Boswellia papyrifera (Ethiopian frankincense)
- Boswellia pirottae
- Boswellia popoviana

- Boswellia sacra (Arabian frankincense)
- Boswellia samhaensis
- Boswellia scopulorum
- Boswellia serrata (Indian frankincense, salaibaum, salphalbaum)

The Indian frankincense boswellia serrata is often described as particularly valuable due to its special spectrum of boswellic acids. Boswellia serrata is also the best-studied extract among the frankincense extracts.
